Heat, culture, and why it matters
Sauna is not a trend. It is a long-standing cultural practice rooted in routine, community, and recovery.
At its simplest, sauna is about heat and time. But used regularly, it becomes something more useful: a way to slow down, recover physically, and create space for mental reset.
Byre Sauna exists to make that experience accessible in rural places, where it fits naturally with landscape, pace, and daily life.
What is sauna?
Sauna is a heated room, traditionally dry heat, where the body is warmed gradually over a set period of time. Temperatures are typically high, but the experience is controlled, calm, and intentional.
In many cultures, sauna is:
Part of daily or weekly routine
Shared, but unforced
Simple in form
Repeated consistently
